Famous stars of sports and show business are playing football for a good cause
You are not the only ones we are asking for help.
Every year Team Mertesacker & Friends take part in a charity match. Well-known stars get behind the foundation and support us so we can continue and expand our projects. German comedian Oliver Pocher has been part of the Per Mertesacker Foundation for years. He and other stars play football for charity which you are welcome to watch as a spectator
In 2013 Mertesacker & Friends played against Lukas Podolski & Friends in Cologne, which was a hugely popular and successful event. In 2009 there was a match against a team led by Philipp Lahm and similar games took part in 2008 and 2007.
Up to 10,000 people came to watch sold out games with football stars such as Thorsten Frings, Michael Tarnat, Robert Enke, Clemens Fritz, Tim Borowski, Hanno Balitsch and Cenk Tosun. German comedians such as Guido Cantz, Elton and Matze Knop took part as well as well-known politicians such as Stephan Weil and Hauke Jagau.
